Fun fact: I'm not a huge Pokemon fan, so I had to rewrite that joke. My beta reader suggested Magikarp, because I originally had him mentioning an Eevee, and well...that just wouldn't work.
And before that, I originally wrote Phil as making a reference to fighting Ridley, before learning that Ridley doesn't even appear in the only GB Metroid game.
ANYWAYS, I'm glad you found it amusing, because that joke had a lot more effort put into it than it should've.
